When it comes to buying
your next home, incorporating feng shui principles and guidelines
is an opportunity and invaluable tool to manifest and create the
life of your dreams. Use the following guidelines to assess and
insure that your next home has the appropriate energy to support
you and and your family.
- Acquire or draw a floor plan of the
home. What is the shape of the house? Are there any extensions
or indentations? What zones of the bagua map do they represent?
- What materials were used in the construction?
Are there any likely toxic effects?
- What happened to the previous occupants?
Were they successful and happy? If not, assess the chi of
the home.
- If the home is sited on a hill, which
way does it face? Are the mountains behind the home and the
front door facing towards the ocean?
- Is there water nearby? If so, what
kind and what direction is it flowing from the home?
- Notice the nearby roads and their
relation to the home's position.
- Are the sizes and shapes of the neighboring
homes and/or buildings compatible with the home? What kinds
of buildings are located nearby? Could they impact the property
adversely?
- Is there good exposure to sunlight?
Which direction does the home face?
- Are the trees and shrubs around the
home healthy?
- Is the position of the front door
auspicious? Is the approach to the front door attractive?
If not, can it be remedied?
- Is the position of the main staircase
in a favorable location?
- Is it possible to position living
room chairs and sofas appropriately?
- Will it be possible to arrange the
beds favorably in the bedrooms?
- If you have a room for a home office
will it be possible to position the desk and desk chair auspiciously?
- In the kitchen, are the sink and
stove sited favorably in relation to each other?
- Where are the bathrooms, tubs, showers
and toilets in relation to the center of the house?
- Is the home sited such that it slopes
upward from the street or downward?
- Avoid transmission towers or electrical
transformers on or facing the property.
- Avoid homes:
- With staircases placed at the
entrance.
- Where the main door directly
faces a column.
- If the main door opens onto a
bathroom.

Your home will sell faster,
easier and for more money when you incorporate the following Feng
Shui principles.
- You will attract qualified
buyers (i.e. prosperity and fortune) to your door by planting
bright flowers or by placing pots of colorful flowers by the
front door.
- Cut back, and away from
the entrance to your home, any large trees or shrubbery that
is too close to the door or blocks the pathway.
- The main door should
not be blocked by items on the front porch, nor should there
be anything sharp, straight or angular aimed at the front
door.
- A curving, clear and
clean walkway to the front door is most auspicious.
- The Buyer should easily
be able to determine which door is the main entrance to the
home. There should be one, obvious entry door.
- Sellers! Repair any gates,
fencing or broken hardware. Plus fix any leaking hose bibs
or sprinklers. Water is symbolic of money. Do you want it
to be 'dripping away"?!
- The hardware on the front
door should be in good condition and the door bell should
be operating and with a pleasant chime.
- Apply a fresh coat of
paint to your front door, porch and entrance area, if needed.
Plus a new doormat.
- If possible, install
a water feature, such as fountain near the front door. Do
not allow the water to become stagnant.
- If there is fountain
or water feature, check to see if it is possible to make sure
the water flows towards the house rather than away from it.
(Remember - water symbolizes money!)
- Near the entrance, place
symbols of affluence and prominence such as coins, bells,
or wind chimes (with hollow rods in groups of 6, 7, or 8).
- Be sure you remove as
much clutter as possible both around the yard and throughout
the home. Simplify before putting your home on the market.
- Make sure that you can
open completely the doors and windows in the home and that
there are no obstructions behind doors such as boxes and storage
items.
- A crystal chandelier
placed in the entry encourages an auspicious flow of opportunity
and abundance into the home.
These are
just a handful of tips that you can use to help you sell your
home faster. I would be delighted to help you in any way I can.
